Husband,Father, Spiritual Father, Pastor, Spiritual Advisor,Mentor Visionary Bishop Charles Lamont Matthews founded Due Season Deliverance & Worship Center in Chesapeake, Va. in 2000 which was his first pastorate. In 2007 Bishop Matthews founded The Father's House Ministries International as God gave him a fresh new vision for 21st century ministry. Glancing back over Bishop Matthews 's life he got his start in ministry as a deacon in 1990 at his home church[ New Life Deliverance Church]. As a deacon he started teaching Sunday school. After being a faithful Sunday school teacher he was promoted to superintendent of the Sunday school department, he soon began overseeing other Sunday school teachers, scheduling their times to teach. In 1991, Charles Matthews responded to the call to preach the Gospel confirmed by the appointment of his Pastor. Charles served as aspiring minister for over a year. In 1992 he became very busy making full proof of his  ministry by engaging in the following activities: spearheaded a work place outreach ministry and prayer band, evangelized the project areas of Portsmouth, Va. preaching outside in open air church services many were saved and delivered, preaching in various churches, praying for the sick, casting out devils, became a trained prayer counselor at the Christian Broadcasting Network, organized special church services, provided spiritual counseling for military personnel etc. In1993 Charles was bonded with Portsmouth Civic Courts to perform weddings and funerals. In 1995 Charles was promoted to Associate Pastor. In 1997  Charles was promoted to Senior Associate Pastor. In 2000 Due Season Worship Center was birthed.
In 2001 Charles Matthews and several other pastors came together to form an alliance to help support independent ministries, the alliance was called Next Level Ministries. Charles served as executive director of Next Level Ministries for two years. In 2003 Next Level Ministries and Zion Holy Ministries merged together to form United Faith Fellowship. A fellowship of churches coming together to provide support and spiritual covering for Pastors and leaders. In October 2003 during the UFF Holy Convocation Bishop Jesse Williams , General Overseer of Uff and the board of Bishops appointed Charles to the office of Bishop. Charles served as Bishop of administrative affairs for three years.
Charles Matthews has engaged in several modes of ministerial and secular education such as: currently undergoing a degree program from the University of Massachusetts for human services, formal training from the Deliverance Association, a correspondence course from Rhema Bible College, Tulsa Oklahoma and Christian counseling training from Christian Broadcasting Network.
Bishop Matthews believes that one's greatness is not exhibited through any fame or fortune one may possess; it is only by overcoming the challenges of life that God's greatness is on display in us and through us. Bishop Matthews is married to the lovely First Lady and Psalmist Cathy Matthews: they have been married for 18 years to date. Bishop and First Lady have two handsome sons Charles Matthews Jr. 21 and Aaron Matthews 16. Bishop and his family resides in the beautiful city of Portsmouth, Va.
